Science and Bible are often viewed as conflicting enemies. Many Christians are even afraid to look into matters of science or feel intimidated by science enthusiasts. BUT SCIENCE CONFIRMS THE BIBLE! Many of the Bible’s statements about science went against the generally accepted teachings of the time. However, modern science has again and again confirmed what the Bible has taught for centuries. 

There is a very popular saying, “follow your heart”. Oftentimes it is used as advice when someone doesn’t know what to do. It sounds delightful and even brings a sense of warmth and comfort.  Besides, nothing’s more comfortable than doing what feels natural to us. It’s so common that you may even find yourself saying it. So it “sounds” good, but is it Biblical? Should we follow our hearts? 

“But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” (Matthew 6:6 [KJV]) Jesus Christ teaches us about the importance of being in fellowship with the Father during prayer time. The Father sees and accepts the prayer of the righteous and honors him by “rewrding him openly”. Jesus Christ would often spend time alone in prayer, expressing His love and faith to the Father. In Luke 6:12 it says that he would spend all night in prayer. After that, healing power came out of Him and He healed everyone.

The Fear of the Lord is what is missing and the presence of God. (Proverbs 9:10) The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy [is] understanding. (Proverbs 1:7) The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of knowledge: [but] fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 15:33) The fear of the LORD [is] the instruction of wisdom; and before honour [is] humility. (Proverbs 9:11) For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased. Whatever does not have the fear of the Lord in it is unwise and foolish, temporary and vain; it is doomed to fail.

The first step towards the Presence and blessing of God is acknowledging our Holy God in our lives. By acknowledging Him we declare that we depend on Him! It is the greatest joy of  every father to see that his children acknowledge how much they need Him. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.” (Proverbs 3:5-8)

“I fell out of love with him, I don’t love him anymore…there’s nothing I can do about it, it just happened, the passion is gone!” People feel that they fall out of love as quickly as they fall in. Most people think that love and passion are things that “just happen” if you are “lucky”, and you don’t have any control over them. That’s a very common misconception and one of the most common reasons for marriages falling apart and Christians backsliding. Nothing could be farther from the truth however.

In the gospel of Luke 6:46-49 there is a parable of two men who built their house (one on the sand and the other on the rock) and immediately the storms came. Both men heard the word but one man’s house fell. The reason was because the foundation was not solid. He built on the sand. And in our lives to one degree or another we have learned that the foundation is the most important part of the building. In the case of believers that foundation is on the Rock.
