GOD is Always Faithful
Throughout the Bible we see that every time God made a promise to His people, He would be willing to move heaven and earth to make sure it will come to pass. God NEVER promised His people anything that He did not do. In spite of how impossible it looked in the natural, God was ALWAYS Faithful! There are many Christians today however, who doubt God’s faithfulness. They believe God for something and because they don’t see an answer in the time limit THEY set, they start doubting. Other Christians look to other people who seem to be doing everything right but have no results and they get disappointed. We should NEVER doubt God’s faithfulness! It’s NEVER God’s fault when people fail to receive. There are many reasons people don’t receive; for example, doubting, asking for something that is not Biblical, living in sin, or even trying to figure things out on their own and not letting God work it out. But even when we don’t understand why, we should realize that the problem lies with man, not God.
I love psalms 37:4-5: “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring [it] to pass.”
God is so good, He promises to meet not only our needs but also our desires! What an awesome God! This promise however, like most of the promises in God’s Word is conditional. It says “delight yourself in the Lord” or “make the Lord your delight” and He shall give you the desires of your heart.
If you do your part and make Him your delight, God will always be Faithful to His Word and you can be 100% sure, you will get results. God’s Word is so powerful that it created and holds the universe! In fact, when you read Colossians 1:16-17 in the original Greek, it clearly shows that God is so powerful and so reliable that He holds and maintains the entire universe! That’s amazing! He cannot fail! If God stops being faithful, the universe will collapse!
So we know without a doubt that God is Faithful and He will honor His word and His promises. Our responsibility is to do what Proverbs 3:5-6 says: “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”.
We should fully trust the Lord, and not try to figure things out ourselves. The Bible tells us to “cast our cares on the Lord…” (1 Peter 5:7). Our job is to “seek God’s kingdom first” (Matthew 6:33), stay focused on the Lord, make Him our delight (Psalms 37:4), always acknowledge Him, and expect the Lord to do “exceeding abundantly above all…” (Ephesians 3:20).
Even when things around us look hopeless and it looks like there is a famine, we need to remember that we should focus on God’s Word and know that our circumstances have to line up with God’s Word. We can rely on Him through any situation. God promises in Psalms 37:19 that “They (the righteous) shall not be ashamed in evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied”. When everyone around us is going down, we will go up, when others are in famine, WE SHALL BE SATISFIED, because we are obedient to His Word. He is our only Source and Provider. As a result, God will be glorified and the world will see what a GOOD and FAITHFUL God we serve!
