There is a very popular saying, “follow your heart”. Oftentimes it is used as advice when someone doesn’t know what to do. It sounds delightful and even brings a sense of warmth and comfort.  Besides, nothing’s more comfortable than doing what feels natural to us. It’s so common that you may even find yourself saying it. So it “sounds” good, but is it Biblical? Should we follow our hearts? 

It’s not uncommon for someone, even a Christian to get angry or blame GOD for something bad that happened either to them or someone else. Surely even Biblical characters struggled with this, so let’s look carefully and see what Scripture has to say. But first and foremost we must annihilate the deceiving myth, that GOD does evil. Because James 1:13 says that GOD cannot be tempted with evil, nor does He tempt anyone. Many other scriptures affirm the same truth.  And we must also know the opposite Scripture:

On Wednesday, February 29, 2012 I was at the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ for the Service just like every Wednesday.  I was leading the Praise & Worship that night.  After we finished with the Worship, I went to the back as I usually do as Pastor Sophocles Christodoulou started praying before the preaching of the Word of God.

He never walked away from the hungry in need. Thousands of people He was willing to feed. He never walked away from those in need of healing. He restored that which the devil was stealing. 

People look to the future with uncertainty. Many try to avoid the thought that one day they will get older and finally die. A law professor in a university, who was a believer, had a young law student in his office who was full of life and excitement about the “bright” future that he would have in his career as a lawyer.

In the gospel of Luke 6:46-49 there is a parable of two men who built their house (one on the sand and the other on the rock) and immediately the storms came. Both men heard the word but one man’s house fell. The reason was because the foundation was not solid. He built on the sand. And in our lives to one degree or another we have learned that the foundation is the most important part of the building. In the case of believers that foundation is on the Rock.

Throughout the Bible we see that every time God made a promise to His people, He would be willing to move heaven and earth to make sure it will come to pass. God NEVER promised His people anything that He did not do. In spite of how impossible it looked in the natural, God was ALWAYS Faithful! There are many Christians today however, who doubt God’s faithfulness. They believe God for something and because they don’t see an answer in the time limit THEY set, they start doubting. Other Christians look to other people who seem to be doing everything right but have no results and they get disappointed.
